Integrative Bodywork
Sometimes clients have organic, physical barriers to experiencing a full sense of embodiment. These barriers might show up as scar tissue from injuries or restrictive fascial patterns that formed in response to repetitive movements in sports, work, or simply living in a world that forgot we actually live in bodies. Sometimes there is emotional trauma involved. When any of these circumstances are present (which I believe is the case for every body on this planet), there is an opportunity to expand one’s consciousness, an opportunity to integrate life experiences in deeply liberating ways.
Depending on what you have been up to in your body, I may use my fingertips, knuckles, forearms and/or elbows with very light pressure or intense pressure to mobilize your body tissues. I do my best to meet my clients at their personal threshold of sensation tolerance. As such, this work is collaborative and requires a lot of communication. For many, the process of having their body attuned to by a caring other is deeply meaningful and reparative.
